1940s Vintage Harmony Shirtwaist Dress in Night Garden
The Harmony dress is a timeless vintage-style shirtwaist style, taken from an original forties garment. The Night Garden colourway is a chic black with yellow and white florals. Made of breathable pure cotton here is a versatile spring-summer day dress in a classic style that is both flattering and essential in any vintage fashion enthusiast's wardrobe.
Harmony features plenty of authentic details accurate to the true vintage dress the pattern was taken from, down to its fastenings.
Featuring a pointed collar, which can be worn in a more casual, open, "Havana" style or fastened with a small button close to the neck for a more formal look. On the bodice are three decorative textured buttons in a complementary colour., the button placket is actually fastened with a concealed row of press studs, same as the original garment, which gives a smooth, polished look.
Coordinating black piping also decorates the placket turn-up sleeve cuffs and shoulder yokes, both front and back.
The pleated skirt is constructed with panels to create an elegant A-line shape, true to the 40s shirtwaister silhouette.
An invisible side zipper in coordinating black to fasten.
Please note: the Harmony dress has a relaxed cut. If you prefer a snug, closer fit, we recommend you order a size smaller than your usual size.
Like all our Socialite range, only small numbers are produced to keep them exclusive. The Harmony dress is part of our 2023 spring-summer collection, produced to celebrate our 20th anniversary as a business selling mid-century fashion. Also comes in green, with an orange floral pattern.
100% cotton. Wash at 30 degrees. Iron with warm heat. Do not tumble dry. Dry away from direct sunlight.
Our first model, Alice (blonde hair), is 5ft 3 and wears a UK 10. Our second model, Caroline (darker hair), is 5ft 4 and wears a UK 12.
