1940s Vintage Style Promenade Coat in Camel Brown
Our Promenade coat is an incredible timepiece from the forties. The design is taken from the pattern of an original 40s coat we have in our archive. Our Autumn 2023 version has been improved and updated from our previous run of this iconic coat. We've made some small tweaks to the design and selected a new, premium wool blend fabric that's soft to the touch and drapes beautifully on the figure.
The Promenade features all the elements of the original such as:
- Square shoulders, a large collar, and shoulder pads.
- A wrap-across front, with two buttons showing.
- Set-in sleeves with deep cuffs.
- A waist seam that has secured pleats into the bodice and skirt.
- Matching belt with brown buckle and eyelets.
- Fully lined in a rich beige satin.
The fabric of our Promenade coat is a similar weight to the original vintage coat: ideal for cool days and evenings but not heavy enough for the thick of winter.
60% wool and 40% polyester. It has a flecked camel and cream weave.
These wonderful reproduction coats are very fitted at the waist so if you think you may be between sizes, we advise you to size up.
