1940s Vintage Spirit Linen Dress in Honey Yellow
The Spirit dress is a new addition to our Socialite collection, produced with pure linen fabric that remains light and breathable throughout the day. Offering a lightweight spring-summer piece in a warm mustard or honey yellow shade that will whisk you back to the forties era.
This pencil dress has plenty of details accurate to the true vintage Marldena dress it was taken from, down to the smallest saddle stitching details.
The front bodice features a wide wing collar, four pearled buttons and two rows of pleating across the bust decorated with topstitching. It also has two practical, deep pockets just below the waist seam, which echo the design on the bust. A matching fabric belt is also included.
The dress's silhouette is a close-fitting, 'wiggle' shape, structured with well-placed darts through the waist on the front and back. To create a classic polished, elongated shape when worn, the skirt is also slightly longer than our other replica pieces. A long inverted pleat in the back of the skirt aids movement.
A metal side zip to fasten.
Please note: the Spirit dress has a tightly-fitting cut. From customer feedback and from trying the dress on ourselves, we've found that it runs small, so we recommend you order a size larger than your usual size.
Like all our Socialite range, only small numbers are produced to keep them exclusive. The Spirit dress is part of our 2023 spring-summer collection, produced to celebrate our 20th anniversary as a business selling mid century fashion. Also available in a cornflower blue shade.
100% linen. Wash at 30 degrees. Iron with warm heat. Do not tumble dry. Dry in shade.
Our model Alice (black hat) is 5ft 3 and usually wears a UK 10, but wears a UK 12 in this style. Heather (floral hat) is 5ft 6 and usually wears a UK 10, but also wears a UK 12 in this style. Sarah (video) is 5ft 6 and similarly usually wears a UK 10, but wears a UK 12 in the Spirit dress.
