Your Look and Ours at Goodwood Revival 2018

The Goodwood Revival is the 'event of the year' for both vintage clothing lovers and classic motorcar enthusiasts. The motor racing circuit is located in the green and beautiful area of Chichester West Sussex. The Revival recreates the circuits hayday period between the late 1940s to the mid 1960s.  It's a must to wear clothing and outfits from this period in time. Therefore it's one of our most busiest periods of the year. Revival Vintage has been in the vintage clothing business for over 15 years now but 2018 was our very first time attending the event.

Our Arrival at Revival

Helene and I started putting our ouffits together for the event over the earlier part of the year. It started with Helene finding a lovely original 1950s soft blue coat on a Sunday street market. Straight after that she found a fifties blue dress which Helene was over the moon with not only because she loved it but also the fit was like it was made for her. 1950s is probably our favourite decade for clothing so  I decided to look for a suit to match. After looking for a short time I came across this brilliant original American suit in a vintage store across the water. In this picture I also wore a 50s swing tie with one of our own brand revival vintage white spearpoint shirts. Helene accessorised with all originals including lucite box bag, 1950s catseye glasses, gloves plus blue & white hat.

Spotting Your Outfits and Style

As we walked around we couldn't wait to see if we could spot anyone actually wearing outfits, dresses and accessories we supplied. We got quite a thrill out of it too. Here's some pics of people we met wearing Revival Vintage.

Danielle on the right above picked out her complete outfit from our website. Thats the 50s dress and hat, Tiki handbag and leather gloves. She looks fantastic and obviously has a good vintage eye to pick out such a great ensemble. We spotted the couple on the left (We were silly enough not to get their names). The chap is wearing our own brand pullover and spearpoint shirt with the nutmeg fishtail trousers, very dapper. Below is Vanessa who spotted Helene by just recognising her outfit as she had mused about it on facebook!. Vanessa was one of our last customers before the event and selected her full outfit out with a little help over the phone from Helene. We thought she looked great in her 40s inspired look finished with the round flip sunnies.

The Cars at Goodwood.

We're not really knowledgeable about cars but we really do appreciate the beauty of them. Looking at the vast array of cars and motorbikes dating as the rest of Goodwood back to the 40s, 50s and 60s was interesting, great fun and made us want to buy our own classic car, maybe one day!
The racing is, of course, the big attraction. We did our best to catch some of the races but it was hard to see properly from the side lines. Next year we intend to buy passes for a grandstand.
That way we'll be able to see much more of the racing and get to sit down and enjoy a picnic with a glass of sparkle!
Here's a few pictures of cars racing and display vehicles. You'll also see Helene with her 'day two' 1940s style vintage dress.

Goodwood Revival Fashion Show

The highlight of our second day at the Revival was the Fashion Show. We were asked to provide clothing to be used in the show.
It was very exciting and emotional to see pieces of our own vintage up there on the cat walk. Sevaral items were used and we'll tell you more about them on our next blog.
As a taster here's an original swimsuit which was picked out for an after show Q & A session.

In short then we had a brilliant time at Goodwood Revival and very much intend to return next year for more fun.
