Interview With A Vintage Model

You may have seen on our social media accounts a while back that we were searching for some new models to showcase our wonderful clothes and accessories.

Luckily, we found some absolutely amazing people to act as models for the day, and you can find images of these models on our website, and different social media platforms.

If you have already had a look, you will recognise this lovely lady, Amelia.

She was such a good model, and surprisingly had no previous modelling experience!

We have decided to catch up with her, and find out more about her life!

About you.

What are you currently doing?

I am currently a second year costume design with textiles student at Huddersfield Uni, with a weekend job at a children’s book shop.

What are your hobbies?

Knitting, crochet, embroidery, making my own clothes, reading and reviewing books (part of job but it’s still fun!) and roller skating!

If you could be any animal, what would it be and why?

A cat, as I love to nap, I malt hair everywhere and I always mess up spectacularly like cats often do!

Who is your style icon?

An odd mix of classic beautiful ladies like Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe for their style and grace and clothing shape, but then big bold print wearers and makers like Vivienne Westwood who are quirky and cool.

So I don’t just have one icon I like taking inspiration from lots of wonderful ladies!

About vintage

What is your favourite thing about vintage clothing?

That it’s so unique and individual and has had a life and a history before you’ve even worn it once! It’s also so easy to mix and match eras and styles and shapes to fit your individual style and body shape unlike modern clothing.

What do you love about Revival?

The amazing range of true vintage items all in really good Knick!

That and the amazing kilo sales that means that there’s a new outfit (or three) for everyone at amazing value.

Helene just has an eye for items that are timeless and beautiful and can make items from different eras just seamlessly flow into one fabulous outfit.

What would be your favourite vintage item?

A headscarf!

So versatile and useful as either an accessory or headpiece and great for taming unruly hair, and you can pick them up for next to nothing and they come in every colour under the sun.

About modelling for Revival

What was your favourite part about modelling for Revival?

Getting to try on all the fabulous dresses and play dress up for the morning!

How were you feeling on the day? Were you nervous, excited?

Very nervous, as I had never done anything like that before!

Why did you want to model for Revival?

I thought it might give me a confidence boost and make me feel good about myself as well as helping a wonderful business.

What advice would you give to other people who are wanting to model for a fashion company?

Just be yourself and be confident in you!
