We are located on Westgate which is just off the centre of Huddersfield's main shopping area. We are situated among a number of independant retailers. The shop has two rooms full of mens and womens vintage clothing and accessories. Dresses and separates, outerwear, suits, handbags, shoes, belts, gloves, jewellery and more. Plus two rooms dedicated to fancy dress costumes, props and wigs most to buy or hire. Customers can try out their new look in our large 50s style, comfortable changing rooms.
We have been in the vintage clothing business since 2004 but loved vintage many more years than that!. We are passionate about what we do and we hope this is reflected in our store. As our business has grown we have added fancy dress to compliment our originals and reproduction items. Original vintage clothing from the 1940’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and more. If you are a retro lover we have a great range of reproduction flight bags and telephones.
Our customers include theatrical groups and costume departments from amateur dramatic societies to Television series. Schools have asked us for help in providing Victorian, Edwardian style clothing for their younger pupils. School leavers often come to choose one of our beautiful 1950's and 1960's ball gowns for their prom. We also get 1940's enthusiasts who attend authentic events and dances which reanacte wartime Britain.
Theme nights are great fun. As well as the decade parties, such as 1960's,70's and 80's we cater for many others including pirate, western, gangster, superheroes, hollywood etc.
We are unique in so much as we offer a full range of original vintage clothing which can often be used to create fabulous authentic costumes but we also have the type of stock you would associate with a regular fancy dress shop.
The difference between ourselves and other fancydress online retailers is that we have done the hardwork for you. Using our experience over time we have hand picked what we believe are decent quality, yet affordable, items as we know all to well how disappointing it can be to receive something which does not live up to the expectations the picture portrayed.
